The process step by step

Thank you for your interest in Oporto British School. We are delighted you have decided to enrol your son/daughter in our school. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the admissions office on 00351 226 166 662 or 

Please be informed that no pupil will be admitted without:
  • An interview
  • Submission of evidence of learning and behaviour from previous school
  • Having been given the appropriate test for their age
  • Completion of the medical information form and evidence of vaccinations
  • Proof of Identity
  • Payment of appropriate fees.

Here are the steps to ensure an efficient enrolment:

Step 1
Please fill out the Application Form and return it to the School together with the registration fee of €70.00.

Please use your child´s name as a reference for this payment. Thank you.

Step 2
On receipt of your Application Form we will contact you to arrange for you to come to school with your son/daughter for their pre-entry assessment and interview with the respective Head of Section.  We will also request school reports in advance of the assessment (for overseas applicants please contact the admissions office).

Step 3
Within 10 days of your child´s assessment, we will inform you of our decision on whether they will be offered a place here at the school or not.  This will in writing, either by post or by email.  If there are no vacancies, your child will be placed on our waiting list and you will be updated on the status of your application.

Step 4
There is a three week period for you to decide whether you wish to accept or decline the offer of a place we have sent you.  If you wish to accept the offer, you will be required to sign the respective acceptance forms, pay the acceptance fee of €300.00 and submit these to the school.  

Step 5
On receipt of the completed documentation and payment in step 4, you will receive a letter confiming successful enrolment. We will be in touch regarding purchasing the school uniform, the start of term and any other practical information you may need.
